U.S. Xpress Expands Full Ride College Scholarship Program to Include Technicians and Their Dependents

Chattanooga, Tenn. (May 16, 2019)– U.S. Xpress Enterprises, Inc. (NYSE:USX), the nation’s fifth largest asset-based truckload carrier by revenue, today announced the expansion of Full Ride, a first-of-its-kind college scholarship program, to include technicians and their families.

Launched in September 2018, U.S. Xpress’ Full Ride scholarship program provides U.S. Xpress drivers, and now technicians, the opportunity to earn a bachelor’s or master’s degree from an accredited school, University of Arizona Global Campus, at no cost in one of dozens of disciplines ranging from business and logistics to accounting and behavioral science.

“The expansion of our Full Ride scholarship program to include technicians is another example of how we are reinvesting in our most valuable asset, our employees,” commented Eric Fuller, President and CEO, U.S. Xpress. “We are extremely proud of how successful the program has been thus far for our drivers. We are excited to offer the same opportunity to our technicians.”

In the first eight months available, Full Ride has enrolled 165 participants, 130 of which are U.S. Xpress drivers, and 27 are dependents. With the program’s expansion, eight technicians have recently enrolled.

As part of the program, drivers and technicians may have a total of two family members enrolled in school at one time (either two dependents, or the driver or technician and one dependent). Dependents must be between 17 to 26 years in age. The benefit is also available to drivers working for Total Transportation of Mississippi, LLC, a subsidiary of U.S. Xpress Enterprises, Inc.

Unlike traditional tuition reimbursement programs, the students participating in the U.S. Xpress Full Ride program do not have to front the money for college and then later seek reimbursement. The Full Ride program pays all costs directly to the university, including tuition, books and course materials, removing any financial barrier for U.S. Xpress employees and their families.
