U.S. Xpress, Inc. Appoints New Senior Vice President of Over the Road Operations

Second largest, privately-owned, truckload carrier strengthens is operations division

CHATTANOOGA, TN.- November 21, 2016 -- U.S. Xpress, Inc., a leading provider of transportation services throughout North America, welcomed their new Senior Vice President of Over the Road Operations, Steve Phillips. Phillips comes to U.S. Xpress with a wealth of experience, as he has previously served in nearly every aspect of the transportation industry.

Over the course of his 27 years in the industry, beginning his career in dispatch and customer service, Phillips has held numerous leadership roles in marketing, sales and operations. His prior roles include: Vice President of Customer Service, Vice President of Van Division, Senior Vice President of Operations, and Senior Vice President of Fleet Resources, all at Werner Enterprises, as well as Senior Vice President of Sales at TruStar Energy.

Additionally, Phillips has been actively involved in the trucking community and has served on the Board of Directors of the North American Council for Freight Efficiencies, as well as the Trucking Profitability Strategies Advisory Board at the University of Georgia.
